There is an emerging different way of cultivating, processing and extracting nutrients and food from plants. It is not necessarily about organic ways of cultivation and manufacture, but ways free of chemicals that harm the environment, farmers and that ultimately taint the product. It is about going back to traditional solvents used to extract plants, water (traditional decoctions) and grain or sugar ethyl alcohol (traditional tinctures). It is about current (supercritical extraction) and future (adiabatic extraction) extraction technologies and biotechnologies that do not result in waste chemicals thrown into the fields and rivers.
