
SHORT BIO Vladimir Badmaev, MD PhD
Vladimir Badmaev, MD PhD, graduated from Medical Academy Bialystok (AMB), Poland, in 1975); clinical and anatomical pathology at Kings County Hospital New York and Downstate Medical Center New York (1982-1985). He earned his PhD degree in immunopharmacology from AMB in 1978.
He established Badmaev Natural Drug Foundation in 1984 and American Medical Holdings Inc. in 2009 in Staten Island, NY, to develop nutraceuticals and natural pharma products at www.badmaevtradition.com
His lifelong goal and work is to integrate traditional knowledge of botanicals with science-derived pharmacology, which he describes as the Interactive Nutrients Process (INP), to develop safe and effective “smart drugs” based on AI.
Between 1999 and 2009 he was the runner-up or recipient of 4 New Jersey R&D Council Thomas Alva Edison Awards for the US patents #5,536,506, #5,804,596, #6,849,645 and #7,063,861. He helped R&D of the following nutriceuticals: C3Complex ® (Sabinsa), Gugulipid ® (Sabinsa), SeleniumSelect ® (Sabinsa), Lactospore ® (Sabinsa), Xanthigen ® (PLThomas), RhodioLife® (PLThomas/Polyphenoles Naturales), Zembrin® (PLThomas/HGH), 5-Loxin® /Apres-Flex® (PLThomas) and MenaQ7® (NattoPharma).
On behalf of American Medical Holdings Inc. (AMH), Dr. Badmaev developed Adaptrin®, GreenSelenium®, TurmericImmune®, SlimTrym®, and FB3 ® and is in the process of developing a natural ginger phenolic derivative into the “smart drug” 6-Shogaol for the management of iron overload and early-stage myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). For his work on 6-Shogaol, Dr. Badmaev obtained a US patent, No.: US 10,864,174 B2 (2017) and 11 related patents worldwide (2017-2024), including those in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, EC, Japan, Korea, India, and China.
In 1999, Dr. Badmaev contributed a chapter on Tibetan medicine in Wayne Jonas’s and Jeffrey Levine’s textbook for medical students and health professionals, published by Williams & Wilkins and Lippincott (Amazon.com). In 2009, he contributed a chapter about curcuminoids to Raymond Cooper’s and Fredi Kronenberg’s book on alternative treatments in medicine. Dr. Badmaev has participated in the following Medical/Scientific Societies: the International Society of Immunopharmacology (1982), the American Association of Clinical Pathologists (1983), the American Medical Association (1984), and the Research and Development Council of New Jersey (1996).
